Simple Pie Crust

Makes one large single-layer pastry.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5-7 tsp of ice water

Directions

  1. Combine salt and flour.
  2. cut the crisco into the flour mixture with a pastry blender until it is fully mixed.
  3. Add ice water 1 tsp at a time until the dough can form a ball without crumbling.
  4. Roll out the dough until thin. Use plenty of flour to coat the top and bottom.
